What is kAI?

kAI is OpenReplay’s AI assistant that lets you ask product and technical questions in plain language. It provides answers using session data, user events, and system insights.

Is kAI the same as Clips, Smart Search, or Explain AI?

No. Those are standalone AI features inside OpenReplay. kAI is a unified assistant that brings them together by responding to your questions using advanced reasoning.

Where is kAI available?

kAI is currently available for Serverless Cloud users. We plan to make it available for Dedicated and Self-hosted setups soon.

Will I have control over kAI when self-hosted?

Yes. When available for self-hosted environments, you will have full control over how kAI runs and what it accesses.

Does kAI access my database directly?

No. kAI does not access your database directly. It reasons over existing APIs, processed data, and OpenReplay’s internal systems.

What is MCP?

MCP is the orchestration system that powers kAI. It manages context, prompts, and data flow so that kAI can respond accurately without needing raw database access.

Can I see a demo of kAI?

Yes. A live demo of kAI will be available on the website to show how it responds to real questions about sessions, errors, and product behavior.
